Dick Budden b.1940 in Jersey. Budden began his sculpture career in TV and film. His passion is rooted in wood carving, especially walnut, which then flourished to a love for bronze casting. He worked with The Late Kenneth Armitage enlarging three of the famous sculptor’s maquettes into huge public sculptures. Some of his most popular
work includes his giant iron resin fruit sculptures.
After attending Bournemouth College of Art, Budden freelanced as a sculptor at The BBC TV Centre from 1968 onwards. He continued making his own sculpture, some wood carvings, some in polystyrene. Many of his wood sculptures have been cast in bronze and sold to collectors.
